Remember To Thank The Interviewer

Remember To Thank The Interviewer

Most people  may think that it is great to follow-up with a panelist member to thank them for their time and attract your name in the front of their mind.  This may have some effect on them , but  it may not be in the positive as per say or as per your wishes.  Interviewer takes time out of their regular job to fill vacancies in a division. This is always extremely busy and stressful time and they do not have time to  take calls from everyone that they have interviewed.

But this is should not be interpreted to mean  that sending thank you message is  a wrong idea, it’s not.  What makes the difference is the method you use to address the interviewer.  Maybe you can send send a quick mail  thanking them for their time  and make it clear you are  looking forward to hearing from them, this could be valid if they gave you a business card .  Quick and to the point and leave it at that.  Do not expect a reply or a feedback- certainly you will not get one and this may disturb you.

Second to sending  quick mail, you can send a   professional thank you note   but ensure its also short. The message should follow the same format, thanking the interviewer for taking the time to sit down with you, express how much you enjoyed  learning more about the company and  speaking with them . .

Thank You Note

It not a guarantee or assurance of that you will get a job offer, but thank you notes, if properly done , may open more opportunities for you in the future from the organization. The interviewer may remember you and think of you before others when they are job openings in the same company.
